Position Overview:
As a Diesel Mechanic at Damaris Express Inc, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnosis of our fleet. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in diesel engine repair, with specific expertise in Volvo 9700 buses preferred. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a dedication to ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to keep our fleet operating at peak performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques to identify problems quickly and accurately.
- Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines, 45 Day inspections/3k miles, transmissions, brakes, and other systems to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, including engines, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and electrical systems, to restore functionality and reliability.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices to ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts inventory, work orders, and service reports.
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize tasks, coordinate repairs, and minimize downtime for our fleet.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in diesel engine technology, attending training sessions and workshops as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with Volvo 9700 bus experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex diesel engine systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and address mechanical issues.
- Knowledge of diesel engine components, systems, and operation, including fuel systems, electrical systems, and emissions control systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair situations as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
